Several Small Problems

For your information my car is a 1985 Rx-7 with the 12a engine

Ok, the seller of the car didnt tell me this when I bought it, but after driving it around the first night I noticed something funny about my gas guage... if I lay into the throttle a bit the gas guage dips way down, but if I go around corners and brake hard it goes way up, now I know this is fuel sloshing around causing this to happen, but my question is this...

Where is the fuel level monitor/guage located? on the fuel pump? I need to know what to replace to get it fixed.

Also.... I was driving down the highway when randomly I heard a clunking noise then the sound of something being dragged on the ground, I was right near my exit so I pulled off got into a parking lot and looked under the car, there was a pipe that looked just like a sway bar hanging down, so I pulled on it, it came off fairly easy, and now its sitting in my garage. I looked at it and its a hollow pipe with some rubber tubing on the end of it, part of my emissions somehow I believe, because when the car sits still for a bit I can smell exhaust gases coming from under the car. It hasnt effected the performance of the car at all but I would like to get it fixed, possible welded back into place, anyone have any idea what it is?

Lastly... My arm rest console hinge is broken =( the little plastic piece just busted right at the seam, anyone have any similar experience with this console cover? What I can use as a temporary fix until I can either order a new one or rifle through a junkyard for one?

Thank you in advance

Brian

It's located inside the gas tank. You can get to it by removing the plastic shield behind the l
eft rear wheel.

Probably your fresh-air pipe for your catalitic converter. Without fresh air your cat will die
a slow death.

If you can find one in the junkyard.... great! Mazdatrix has a very limited selection of them new if you can't

I have never seen bin lids with the original platic hinges intact, except on Manntis's old car. I would just get some piano hinges and screw them on, because your chances of finding intact bins are very slim.

i fixed my arm rest bin by using a pair of hinges i picked up at Home Depot.....theyr'e pretty cheap and it looks perfect when the lid is closed....when the lid is open the only difference u notice is the shiny brass/copper hinge.....which i will paint to black soon when i redo my interior
