Excelent pics!!! I especially like that red FB with the Panasport wheels. That's sort of what I'm looking to do with my car eventually (specifically the bright red paint, and the flat black air dam). I also hope to do some other, more performance-driven bodywork (out of fiberglass) like rear diffusers/low pressure chambers, and such.

Im glad all of you enjoyed it! Mine was the 1st gen parked between the buildings with a gen 2 and 3. The red one pictured here is Mel's from San Diego. I had a small hand in its restoration. Yes, he did a fine job of it.
I wish I could have spent some time talking to those of you that were there but keeping things going smoothly takes some doing.

See you all at SS6!!!

You still have it? It thought it was broken down, then for sale, then it wasn't, then it was...etc.

oh yeah i still have it. i pulled the motor and trans. motor will be getting some 2 spring 3mm apex seals and of course my badly needed rotor oil seals. i will still be running the same t-04 turbo but might have a differnt manifold made. also might ditch the 2 webber down drafts for a stand alone unit. right now the damn car is sitting in storage costing me some loot just to sit there. i hope to have it in the body shop for a new paint job and get the engine bay painted by march. then right after that the motor will get done. where is laguna at? i should be able to make it to 7 stock next year, i have a 2week vacation comming to me.

My TII powered 1st gen was there. It was the white one parked next to mels red GSL-SE in the pics above. Its pretty well modified. Stock 89-91 engine, 89-91 turbine with 60-1 HiFi compressor, RB downpipe 3in exhaust all the way back,FMIC,Haltech E6k running 4 720s, RB light flywheel and an ACT HD clutch. SS5 was my 1st gens first trip to go over 5 miles from my house we got a lot of off boost tuning done on the way home. I did not want to drive my 3rd gen because I knew from last year there would be a ton there. Next year I should have 1st gen painted and ready for SS6.

defprun,
Thank you, that's my FB. Not my old SS3 winner.
Well after owning 4 1st gens over the last 10 years, it's about time I got on the forum.
Nothing too special other than it being as clean as can be for an '84 with a 'newer' engine..less than 282,000 miles for sure. Custom IHMC strut tower brace, full RB exhaust system, Panasport Pro Rally wheels.
I would opt for having a Mariah or Pacific airdam but I can smack curbs and cones with that one without worry (: . Factory rear spoiler not on yet and other things like louvers and diffuser. and Mark, who needs a job? :P
About that silver car, I spoke with the owner briefly and it's a Mazda Comp GTU bodykit and custom turbo with a reversed header looking intake runner.
Cheers,
Mel

I am curious about what that means. Do you mean that it had a "header style" custom enxhaust manfiold to a turbo?

Kinda like this one?

there were four separate pipes each going into a respective intake port running over the top of the engine and collecting into a single large pipe right before the turbo outlet, looked light a 4-banger header for an intake..strange looking but functional

i'd tow my 7 to laguna seca, but only if we can drive the cars out on the track at full speed, with some strict passing rules. and take people for rides too of course.
