Carl and Sterling = Yes
Jeff20B, r u coming? this is the last meet.

cdrad51 06-28-04 03:06 PM

I'll be there.

inittab 06-28-04 03:07 PM

the last Sevenstock? yeah right. that makes just NO sense whatsoever. They had over 4000 ppl last year. They must be on crack to stop now!

I don't know the details but I think Mazda won't be supporting it anymore. Remember this is a free event. Nobody is making any money here.

Oh yeah, count me in.

I agree 100% but thats what they are claiming......last 7stock. ;)

Mazda won't support it? That makes even LESS sense. They're gonna turn away 4000+, income earning, Mazda-buying, enthusiasts. Like I said, it just doesn't make sense.

LOL how true is that?!?!

cdrad51 06-28-04 03:40 PM

inittab, stop postwhoring or I'll report you to the mods... Oh wait a second, you are a mod, never mind.

Yeah supposedly the last one, and my first one! W00T!

jays83gsl 06-28-04 03:56 PM

This is the one in August or September, right? Where is it?
I'll be there, more likely than not, but I do need info :D

DriveFast7 06-28-04 03:59 PM

The Lawn Green REPU will be there.

inittab 06-28-04 04:05 PM

grrrrr....... dang it, you modified your post cdrad51..... I hate that. :p:

jays83gsl 06-28-04 04:08 PM

Socal? That's only a state away from me! I am still worried about the Rex not making it all the way, as I won't have the cash for a rebuild by then (it's odometer reads 198,000 MILES!). Do you think a Rex with that many miles and a 'new' rebuilt carb can make it that far? I'll have about $2300 to put into her by then, but about $300 if not more will definately be going to this trip!
If y'alls think this motor can make it, I'll be there for sure. Hell, maybe I'll sell my toes or something for enough money to get her running strong for this trip!

DriveFast7 06-28-04 04:10 PM

just rod out the radiator, get the oil cooler ultrasonically cleaned, make sure belts, hoses, water pump, filters are up to the task. bring a couple gallons of purified water.

jays83gsl 06-28-04 04:17 PM

OKay, even if I have to get some help from people I know the whole way to Cali, I'M GOING! Hellzah.
Since there hasn't been anything official that I can see, I think I can set up the cvan to Cali from the Southwest Sector.
If you're from west Texas, New Mexico, or the surrounding states, post here. We'll figure something out. I live right off of I-10, so I figure I have the prime position for this.
Peace for now!

That would be 2 states away from you my friend - don't forget AZ :D

You'll make it. I've done that trip in my 7. Of course it only had 125,000 at the time, but it made it with no problem, A/C running a lot of the time, made it from the middle of New Mexico to LA in 12 hours, with an average speed of hmm, 90 mph? and it was totally stock at the time.

jays83gsl 06-28-04 04:30 PM

Yes, Arizona is the state away :D I have an odd way of thinking.

cdrad51 06-28-04 04:35 PM

Oh so if you were in AZ how would you describe CA as far as how many states away?

Tom 06-28-04 05:04 PM

Whoa- I just mentioned Sevenstock to the missus... Kind of in an off-hand way. She said- "So how would you get the Mazda there? Drive or trailer?" Umm...she even marked it on the calendar??

Ehhhh... 14 years of marriage and you think you know someone and then POW!! They throw ya a curveball.

LOL…but as I always say, ITS CHEAPER TO KEEP HER THAN TO GET RID OF HER.

Rx7carl 06-28-04 05:28 PM

Brad, your not bringing the blue beast this year?

Tom, easy way out. Bring her with you. :D

DriveFast7 06-28-04 05:42 PM

Hey Carl.

Don't feel like trailering the blue bridgeport to SS7 this year. A fair amount of effort just to park her although lots of folks do enjoy checking it out.

Kinda burned out on that car. A few weeks ago trans jammed in 3rd gear while downshifting for the sweeper @ Buttonwillow, and the driveline is vibrating real bad so I need to nut and bolt it, then add more pinion angle, take it to the drag strip and try it. Drag strip is much closer and cheaper than towing 3 hours and hoteling a weekend.

...... and the REPU is almost 100% restored....very cherry. new pics this week.

MarkPerez 06-28-04 06:57 PM

Of Coarse, i'm there fella's .

MarkPerez 06-28-04 06:58 PM

Of Coarse, i'm there fella's .

I don't know if i'm taking the 82, or the -SE ??

jays83gsl 06-29-04 03:30 AM

If I was in AZ, Cali would be 'the next state over.' Redundant as hell, I know :)
Turns out that my town is one of the night stops for the I-10 route, according to the guys on the forum for this event :D
And, I won't be able to get a paint job before the event, unfortunately. My bugly tan-primer car won't bring you guys down, will it? I figure I'll represent the 'normal' RX-7 this year, and next year (I'm confident it will be there again!) I'll have it up just as good as most of the rest!
Go me!

tracer 06-29-04 04:28 AM

Nobody knows me, but I'll be there in my brown '83. the 10th is my birthday. :P

ioTus 06-29-04 04:32 AM

I'd LIKE to go.... we'll see.

Tripple 7's 06-29-04 05:35 AM

ive been dyin to go again since after the last one. prepin the car now for the run.

I just hope there are no whiny rx8 owners at the banquet this year.

OtakuRX 06-29-04 06:45 AM

I would go but I can't afford it.

jays83gsl.. this IS the LAST seven stock on the west coast. no more. at least under that name. but i'm sure the SoCal RX club will hold events in the future. last year was great !! and to whoever goes this year do yourself a favor and bring a camera or video camera.
and bring a lunch, something to drink even if you don't have, or can't bring anything RX. I wish i had met more forum members last year. need something to ID each other and place it on the car(s)........ maybe

:rofl::rofl: We left when that crap started. Buncha babies!

Geoff, if you can make it go, its worth it trust me. Im commin all the way from Florida again!

Mark, I thought about that last year. Lets brainstorm on this one. Of course Im easy to spot. Just look for the idiot with the dancing banana on his back! :p:

jays83gsl 06-29-04 03:34 PM

Pity to that. Even if we have to pay the SoCal club, I wouldn't mind that!
Yes, an 'ID' of sorts would be great! As for our cars, we can simply write something on the windows or something?
You'll be able to tell mine apart, it's tan-primer (O_o?) with the black paint fading off the chrome. Also, the passenger side fender will most likely be a different color. Hell, since it PROBABLY won't be painted yet, I may just write "rx7club.com - jays83gsl"
on the side ;)
Of course, if it IS painted. . . .
but, that's a story for a different time.
Anyone else in the first gen board taking the I-10 route? See you for the dinner in EP if you are ;)
Peace for now,
JJ

jays83gsl 06-29-04 03:35 PM

BTW, what's this about whiney 8rs? I see em all the time. The RX 8 seems to, unfortunately, attract that type :(

mcnannay 06-29-04 03:50 PM

well im coming down for sure now, and most likely my little bro will go too, hopefully we can get his car ready to make the trip...

all this talk is getting me really excited, and it seems like forever til it happens!!! can't wait to see it all

jays83gsl 06-29-04 04:24 PM

Don't worry, I do a real good job of keeping things hyped up!
It's all about knowing when to say what, and where to stick your exclamation points :D
Smileys help too.
Peace

Maybe. Of course I said that about last year's SevenStock. I'd like to get my 20B car done by then. Maybe I'd better get out there and work on it instead of post whoreing all afternoon. :p:

MarkPerez 06-29-04 05:54 PM

hows this carl ?.. on the outside, passanger side windshield use a grease pensil, small but large enough to read " rx7 club " then screen name. i say small because who knows if the SoCal rx club would through a fit or what not. i wouldn't think so, but one never knows.

To all who attend with a car,,,,get there early !! to get in the main lot. last year before the gates opened, across the street there were rx type cars as far as you could see.. it was foggy.. lol

jays83gsl 06-29-04 06:20 PM

Sounds like a dandy idea, Mark! Um, where do you buy a grease pen? :D
So, are we gonna use that?

Siraniko 06-29-04 06:33 PM

NO RAINBOW STICKER PLEASE!! ;)

I dont know if I will bring the FB or RX-3...It was not a fun drive last year with the RX-3...imagine no radio. loud exhaust and 1 hr of stop & go traffic.

And Yes, we're planning to be there early.

d0 Luck 06-29-04 07:25 PM

i will be driving there w/ my YELLOW aggressive SP rx-3,

wacko thinks he has it worse than me, but my turbo bridge GSL is faarrrrr morrree loud

hence i will drive my yellow rx-3

note to wacky: stop crying like a baby!! :D

kidding... i still need my 51 IDA good to go before 7stock :)

Rx7carl 06-29-04 07:27 PM

They wont mind if you mark your car. But also you need to mark yourself somehow. I know alot of your cars by sight (thats how I found Mel and Brad) but I dont know who YOU are and no one stays by their cars all day. I missed Bern, rotor13B, and racerx7fb among others cause I dont know what they look like. John (rhino61) and I met cause we traded cell numbers and were able to find each other. :beerchug:

Jay, at the banquet, they had one of the designers of the 8 there as a guest speaker. During the Q&A the 8 owners started bitching and asking why they werent getting the published hp numbers. It was pretty tacky if you ask me. First off the guy was a designer, not a powerplant engineer. Second, this is supposed to be a gathering of rotorheads (like a love fest) and these guys embarrased ME at least by being whiney babies in front of the Mazda representatives. :( I might skip the banquet this year and hang at the bar if anyones interested. Depends on whos speaking and all.

Yea what a sight that morning! Rotary powered cars as far as the eye could see in every direction! Even after the lots were full, there were still cars lined up parked for miles it seemed. :bigthumb:

Siraniko 06-29-04 07:36 PM

Carl,
I still have ur number...is it good? I have Craig's # too.

BTW,
Since there's still time, if anyone need FB or FC parts, make a wish list and I will try to get them...(some small items you guys can bring back).

Rx7carl 06-29-04 07:37 PM

Was that other yellow RX-3 by yours d0 Lucks?
