Arrow Setting a Value To My Cars Damage...

Well, as most of you know, my car was stolen, and Ive been trying to compile a list of all the parts that were broken and/or removed. Well, I found most of what I needed at Mazda Trix, but there are a few select panels that I cant find there, as well as seats. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a price and/or value of these to be replaced? The parts Im referring to are listed below. Ill also attach the Excel list Ive been working on, so maybe you could try and chime in with any thoughts you have as well that maybe Im forgetting? Thanks guys .

1. Rear cargo area inner fender covers
2. Rear cargo area hatch latch plastic cover, with carpet draping
3. A new door (they screwed mine up taking the lock out), or maybe just a body work quote?
4. The front left hard brake line from the master cylinder (they cut it for some reason )
5. The cigarette lighter socket (they took it for some reason, but left the cigarette lighter )
6. The upper dash piece from a S2 RX-7. The metal part the windshield defrost vents go in.
7. The windshield defrost vents
8. The lower dash section o the left of the steering wheel that goes around the choke ****.

I think thats it...Im not too sure. Anyway, check out the list I have going, and see if theres anything Im forgetting, as well as what you think those parts above should be valued at.

half that **** has to be laying around their place somewhere. theres NO way they could pull all that **** off, and have it sold in the little amount of time they had it. people cant sell it that fast on ebay/the forums, much less from person to person, especially in your area without you hearing about it. thats alot of f'in money.. and alot of **** to take. that is weird they cut your hard brake line... wtf? i feel for you man, hopefully they wont totall your car and give you the money its worth...

Hey, maybe they got requests and just took their time filling them.

Or maybe they worked in conjunction with a few others in chop-shop deals to create one car out of many.

Have you gotten a Victoria British Catalogue? Some of that stuff looks like it might be there, but I can't seem to find mine right now.

From there, if you can't find them, ask Mazda, they're your last and only hope for "official" pricing. Then you have to estimate and go to the forums.

Hey T.J., what color interior..looks like brown or tan from the pics.
Let me know and I'll get the proper Mazda part numbers for you from my CD.

No guarantee that they can get them anymore, but you can at least get the prices.
Here's what I have found so far:

Door: (R) FA54-58-010H
(L) FA54-59-010H
Defrost Grills (R) FA54-60-786 (brown)
(L) FA54-60-796
Seat: (R) FA57-57-150A (Brown Cloth)
(L) FA57-57-100
Brake Lines (2 in the front) FA07-43-360
FA07-45-280
Cig Lighter Assembly-FA54-66-250A

Let me know what else you need numbers for and the colors, I'll get 'em for ya.
If you want the numbers for the LEATHER seats I can get them.
Good Luck!

get a quote for new paint... it looked pretty beat up from the pics... also noticed that there was no sun-roof.

Oh, and there's no reason anyone needs to know the engine didn't work in the first place. Just a thought.

No, I didnt get my seats back, I just keep forgetting about the things. I got the part numbers for them, so Im gonna call the Mazda dealer and see if they still have a price for them in their computer. If not, Ill just either value them at about $1000, because thats what it would cost for two new Corbeaus, tracks, and harnesses, or, Ill get a quote to have some of my 85 GSL seats reupholstered in black leather.

I thought about the paint idea too. The glass sunroof was there, it was just laying on the floor. I dont have/never had a metal sunroof for it however...Hmmm, I could say that went missing from the back hatch with the sunroof bag I suppose...

By the way, thank you everyone for the part offers, but right now, Im not concerned with getting it back together just yet. Theres a lot of other stuff I need to do first .

Do you guys think that sueing this hick for $10,000 in damages and loss plus lawyer fees is outrageous?

My list Ive compiled using all new parts from Mazda for replacement, as well as my performance parts comes out to about $100 under $7K, and that doesnt include my $300 coat, tools, GMRS radio, cell phone charger, spare battery for cell phone, other misc stuff in storage bins, body work, engine(?), a few other misc interior pieces, etc.

Hes obviously not going to have $10K+, but Ill be damned if Im not gonna do SOMETHING to screw his life over...

Insufficient evidence? Huh? WTF! Stolen vehicle on their property! Sounds like someone has an inside with your PD; they are getting protected.

Did they search the property and buildings when they arrived to help you get the car?

If not, you should have them get a search warrent for the property and environs listing the items you are missing from your car. Then have you along when they serve it so that you can identify your missing parts.

Find someone here to send you a fukt turbo for free. Hit it with a hammer a few times to fully destroy it.
Drive by their property at night, and wing it out the window where they can't see it.

Cost of a new turbo? - twelve hundred dollars.

...Cost of ******* the bad guys?
...priceless.

BTW, how can they say "lack of evidence" when you have photos?
I would start with the police. Can you sue them? If they fucked up by not getting a warrant, can they be held liable for anything?

ahhh fukit-
T.J., where you at? Time for a knee-cap bustin' road trip!
Imagine three dozen rexs assembling around there place like a swarm of bees, and we all get out, open our hatches, and grab a bat.

Sounds like a good ole Texas BBQ to me.

I was wondering how the local federales knew of them, but they were all walking around still, plying their "trade." They have an inside man somewhere that they pay to destroy evidence or look the other way....you might seriously start considering call your State Attorney to let them know there might be some interesting relationships going on down there.

Thats typical BS. Go to your States Attorneys office and file a big *** complaint. If you get the run-around there see if an attorney will take a case pro-bono on your behalf to either file civil charges on 'da thugs or possibly work with the States Attorney to get a case built against them.

The officer REFUSED to get a warrent to search inside the house, saying he didnt have probable cause...

hmm... stolen vehilces.... people smoking pot... sounds like probable cause to me. I'd definitely say that they were getting paid off. I hope you're not fuked. Definitely call your state attorney general's office. (you can find it via google) let them know what's happening, and they should help you out.

Just as an update, to my knowledge there has been no change in this ordeal with the cops, arrests, or anything. I also left a message for the officer to call me so I could discuss this with him, and he didnt. Ive written a letter I plan to submit to all local news stations, as well as the state attourneys office (good idea, thanks). Lately, there was something passed so that here in Seattle, there are no more car chases, and the cops are on the news and peoples minds already, so maybe one of the news stations might be interested to hear how little they do anyway...

I also added some more to that list I was constructing, and I put it in PDF cause its smaller, and more people have Acrobat than Excel anyway (or so I would think since Acrobat is free). Im not sure what the purpose of this list is anymore. Originally, it was supposed to be what I have lost, and what needs to be replaced. Of course, it still is, but I just dont think I can use it as a logical list to establish value for persuing leagal action for. I mean, $8K worth of loss and damages to a ~$1500 car? Yeah, right. We all know that it would really cost that to repair in real life if all those parts were bought from those places (this list IS accurate, except the estimated values), but whats a more reasonable and real life number that I could look to get from this ordeal? Im gonna need about $5K for my planned T2 swap, but then I would still have no battery, cut wiring harnesses, no seats, messed up interior, no stereo, etc... I just dont know what I should do with this. Maybe Ill talk with a lawyer or something...
