Series 2/series 3 interchangability?

Here's my plan:
I have an '82 GS in good condition, with low mileage, but the chassis has significant rust.
I found a junked '85 base model with no engine, cut and missing wiring, trashed interior, etc., but the chassis is straight and rust-free.
I want to strip the '85 chassis down to nothing, then swap everything from the '82 into the '85 chassis. I know this will be a lot of work, but I'd need to strip the '82 to repair all the rust, and I think this will be easier.

My question is: will there be any mounting problems between the two chassis?

I know about the following differences:
in the front end: the '82 has a short radiator and front mount oil cooler, '85 has tall radiator and no oil cooler up front. This looks to be a bolt-in swap. (right?)

The dashboard/instrument cluster is different. Does anybody know if they use the same mounting points? I'm planning to swap all wiring from the '82, so wiring differences are no problem.

Is there anything else I missed that I need to think about?
