second gen manifold on se ?
second gen manifold on se ?
will a second gen intake manifold (lower and upper) fit on an se? i looked at the gaskets (or the pictures of gaskets on mazdatrix's site) and they look fairly close..
i was thinking perhaps second gen efi setup, with aftermarket ecu (haltec e6k), as an option for a fuel injected se. what do you think?

i heard that the 89-91 is like a bolt on for a gslse but the 86-88 you have to gring a little because the ports of the middle housing wont aling( i think that how it spell) i recomend to try the 89-91 manifold because it give you more power anyway
Yay! A man after my own heart.
When a carburetor is used, it sets you free from the hassles of engine computers, sensors, etc.
All that's needed is for the coils to get 12 Volts when the key is switched "ON".
Then it is SO much easier to troubleshoot and tune because you've eliminated the source of many potential problems.
I guess my "old school" roots are showing. -WG

the reason i was thinking about switching from carb to efi (i am running a carb right now,and do like the simplicity) is tunability. no dealing with changing jets, plus you can tune the entire range, and thus better performance all around. obviously, the advantage of the second get setup is that there is more available for it, and you have 4 injectors instead of 2..
but again, just a though.
