Searched, could not find parking brake cable answer

I'm swapping my rear axle on my '85 S and I need to remove the e-brake cable. Unfortunately I can't get it out of the rear end. I have removed the drums, shoes, all the levers, springs, and the adjuster, but I can't seem to get the cable to come out of the rear axle. I have removed both of the clips that are on the portion of the cable that goes into the axle, but they wont' come out. I'm going to try and heat the part of the rear end where the cable goes through with a propane torch, but does anyone have a good way to get out cables?

on the disc brake setup there was just a set of pins, one within each other. You have to unbend one to a straight line with pliers, then push it out of the larger pin, then remove the large pin and the wire should come apart before the axle. then you should be able to pull the axle and play with the linkage out of the car.

It should be fairly easy to remove.

Is it possible for you to take a pic of the spot that you're stuck with?

nvm, i got it. it was getting the metal part of the e-brake cable out of the actual rear end housing. I ended up heating it and then wedging a small standard screwdriver in there, and prying. Now it's just trying to get the two bolts out of the bottom two parts of the 4-link, and the rear end is out. I'm to the point of cutting the bolts because of galvanic corrosion between the brass sleeve in the bushing and the bolt. not fun.
