SE problems stalling out under load

My wife just picked up an 85 SE that has bin sitting for 7 years we got the thing runing changed the Fuel pump, filter, injectors, starter eliminated FPD becouse it started to leak new rotor cap and button and MSD blaster coils got the 5-6 ports opened up becouse they were seized up. Now here is the problem when ever you floor the car it stars sputering once you press the pedal to the floor then it starts cutting out back firing and so on the weird thing is that it wont do it all the time or sometimes not as bad as other times I am trying to figure out what the problem might be but just runing out of ideas. Theonly thing I can think of is to flush the tank becouse since we put in the new pump in it has gotten quite a bit louder you can actually hear it inside the car when driving it.

What do you mean "flush the tank"? You didn't leave 7 year old gas in there did ya? It's only good bout 6 months or a year with Sta Bil.

How much gas was in the car when you got it home.

If it sat for a long period of time with an empty tank it will rust the tank, which may be clogging the filter.

It happened to me on my pinto, same thing. I was just be cruising and the next thing I know I am bogging out and sputtering backfiring real bad. I went and had my tank redone, and added an oversize filter havent had a problem since.

I would also check your sparkplug wires, you could be having an ignition breakup at high RPM's. Maybe swap some wires with your car to verify. Simple check

You know in another post a while ago, someone ran a dedicated power supply to the fuel pump and noticed a drop in the pumps noise level and a smoother idle. A lack of clean power was causing it to struggle i believe.
