SA and FB strut housing differences

I have a question that I should probably already know the answer to. I have a 79 SA, and I just received my re-speed coilovers which don't fit over my strut housings. So I've started to look for 81-85 housings. The only thing I have been able to find so far is housings that I would have to get shipped without the hub and brake parts. My question is, would my current SA hubs and calipers bolt up to an 81-83 assembly? or would it be much easier to find an assembly with everything on it?

It'll be easier to find a housing with everything on it as nothing from the 79 will work(not even the backing plate works), or you could just plan on buying all new brake components for whatever model year strut housings you buy. I'd also look for an 84-85 years, as they had bigger wheel bearings. One other important thing, the brake thread pitch changed from SA to FB years. ReSpeed can sell you braided lines that will adapt this.

Other then that they bolt right up.

I have sent you a PM. There should not be fitment issues with the parts as long as you received the correct parts.

On my SA (and the RE-speed kit), I had to file down the outer diameter of the plastic sleeves before installing them on the strut tube. I was then able to get the aluminum sleeves to fit after that. It was very tight, but it worked.
