Ok, so I have 79 spindles, new wheel bearings, new rotors all ordered for a 79, everything has bolted together perfectly fine so far.

I ordered new 79 calipers and once they showed up, they do not match what was on the car before.

I have regular slider pin front calipers.....is it possible that in 1980 they changed from wedge to slider pin?

Anybody need brand new wedge style calpers for a 79?

Someone must have already upgraded them. The 79s all came with wedge style. 80s and up have slider pins. I got rid of my wedge style calipers when I switched to big bearing spindles.

 

Yep, change took place at the 79/80 MY changeover.

 

80 version superior and direct swap so you are better off than if they'd supplied the "correct" 79s!

I agree, rather than selling them I would just go to the junkyard and get the brackets for the new style, I have the wedge style and would MUCH rather have the 80 setup!
