SA bumpers on an FB
SA bumpers on an FB
Is this possible? My first true love was an SA, and Im starting the restoration on my red SE in a few months... I was thinking about things I liked about my SA, and believe it or not I prefer those bumpers to the rubber FB ones. Its a much cleaner look with the body molding removed, and I was curious if it was possible to swap them out.
And if it IS possible, is it as easy as just bolting them up? Or will some fabrication be required?
Any advice would be great, ty in advance -Derek

SA's really becoming tough to find back East??
I know when I was considering purchasing mine my oldest son was explaining to me that it would be a nightmare to find the right parts for it, was only two years for the right dash

out east there are nearly ZERO early RX (2,3,4) models lingering around for sale and the SA's are becoming harder and harder to find in decent non rust bucket condition.
Doing this with my '85 GSL. Found a Cali parts car in Michigan and picked up SA bumpers, fenders, the 3 front lower valence pieces (you'll need these, too), the black plastic grill (SA is different), and side moldings. Also converting tail lights to SA.
Now, what color to paint it...

wow, we come across with good bones out here. I'll have to get in the habit of posting so we can do what we can to save more of them

paint may depend on interior colour ?
Grey interior. Considering white, BMW Space Gray Metallic, K8, or the original red - in that order.
As far as plate location and rear end treatment for FB sheet metal, I like this, minus the flaired fenders and wing...
