S5 T2 going in a 1st gen
Need some pics about the front cover on where to drill and tap the front cover for the oil line for the turbo. I know i need to drill and tap it on the side for the oil thing (sorry dont know what its called). Any pics would help Thanks Chris
There is a depression/land, just below the mop, that's the best spot for the S4s, 1/2" NPT minimum. For the one's with the electrionic mop, look for pics of Steve84GS's install.
Turbo oil return line is the phrase you're looking for.

For an S5......
Look at that picture, then scroll straight down from the big OMP drive shaft hole. The large, forward facing area just above the oilpan flange is where you are gonna drill and tap.Its kinda thin, but there is enough material to get a few good threads, and then screw in a 90* pipe elbow. Just use sealant and dont over-do it with the torque.....works like a charm, and the elbow will face right towards the turbo.

Just to throw out another option, I did mine by drilling the hole and tig welding in some 3/4 almuminium pipe. That way you can bend it to any angle you want. I found this easier than drilling and tapping such a big hole.
No doubt.
If you got a TIG welder, use it and youll be able to create almost anything.
Probably one of the most useful tools out there.I had a choice between a TIG or a plasma cutter a while back.....I still wonder if I should have got the TIG?.....oh well, the P/C is an awesome tool in its own right, especially when building 4x4's.
