Rx7 1980

I would like to know, if the front fenders from a RX 7,1981 to 1985 will fit an RX7 1980.
I have a trouble car, RX7 1980 with a rebuild engine, it was running for a while, the engine has 50 hours of running time, it was park for over a year. Last month after cleaning and adding fuel it started for about 5 minutes and gradually died, I tried to start the engine today until the battery when dead. Any suggestions to detect why the car would not start?. I noticed also that the clutch pedal was loose to engage the sifter. I noticed a month ago that the clutch reservoir was empty. I checked for leaks and did not found any, this week I had to refill it again. Has any of you had similar problem? I am in a learning process of this site, how to navigate to ask questions and answers I am going to need some coaching. I would like to thank Richard Miller for his help in shearing his up dates on the swap of fuse from a 2nd gen RX7, Richard I like to know how can I chat over RX7 with you in this forum.
Thank you all

first off, moving this to the correct section. the fenders r different between 79-80 and 81-85. the clutch master or slave cylinder may be leaking. pull back the boot on the slave. check under the dash at the firewall for a leaky master cylinder.

The 1881-1985 fender will bolt up but would required the 1981-1985 bumper and bumper shocks.

A year with old gas in the tank can be a problem. Gas, untreated, will go bad. Starting and running bad gas thru the carb may be part of the problem. Get rid of what is left in the tank. 80 RX7 has no tank drain so you'll have to syphon out what you can, then get some good fuel in.
Change the fuel filter: Fram G2 or equivalent. In front of rear driver wheel.
New plugs unless you know the current ones are recent and correctly gapped!
Likewise new cap and rotor. Give it as much chance as you can to fire.
Battery needs to be in top shape. Old, low batteries will not have the cranking amps to deliver the strong shot rotaries need to start.
Clean the battery posts and cable ends! Corrosion, even minor can be an issue!!

Keep us posted. Be descriptive in what you do and how it reponds.
