the rx-7 carburetor

I own a rx-7 1982. i just bought a carburetor of the ebay. When i installed it on my engine i found that it's running rough. i think that it was modified for racing. can somebody tell me what sizes of jets should be in the original carburetor an give me some good tunning tips?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Describe your rough running problem. The stock jets are 92 primary and 160 secondary for most carbs. Some may vary by one size or so depending on the year and transmission of the car it came from.

if it was shipped I am willing to bet 100% that it was turned upside down, that messes something up and requires readjustment, right?

Sometimes in shipping the floats get stuck from bouncing all over creation.

it can't idle below 2000 rpm, my friend that use to work on those told me that the engine was ported for racing and it won't never idle properly. the engine rattels like it's working unevenly. thanks for the update on jets carb seems to be in norm.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Even ported engines idle lower than that. Hunt it down and correct it.
