rx-7 book

i was at a local book store, glancing through their automotive section. and i found a book dedicated entirely to 7's. it was sixty-some dollars, so i think i'd rather steal it than buy it. but it details the rx-7 from the early cosmo sport, to the rx-concept all the way up to the 8.

the whole point for bringing this up, was that they showed photos of the japanese versions and in one the car had these front fenders with side mirrors coming out the sheet metal, instead of having them by the a-pillar. i didn't know if anyone has seen the same, or a car with them, or of a place to get them.

if i remember the name of the book, i'll post it, its worth a look for anyone interested in the cars past.

Are you saying it was a first gen with mirrors coming out of the fender?

Thats how the Japanese Savanna was..

And yes, that is a model car, not a real car, but it's just the first picture I could find.

Yeah, the Japanese had mirrors on the side housings.
If you do the whole video game thing, pick up a copy of
Gran Turismo 2 (PS1)
or
Sega GT Online (XBOX)
You'll find that ALL the first gens in those games have the funny little side mirrors. What a trip!
I was looking into getting this completely original RX 7 Turbo near me (even has the steering wheel on the wrong side!)
But didn't like left hand shifting, and it was even more thrashed than the one I bought. I'm still considering just trying to buy the charged engine off him.

How much is the owner asking? I'd love to have a RHD '7, turbo or not...
