I just started it up, ran good, revved up fine, no problems so far. I'll get to the gas station tomorrow and fill it up with premium so I can see how it is when the boost kicks in

I havn't boosted it yet, but I will SOON. I need to get to the gas station and fill it with premium before I let it boost at all. It drives good now not on boost, but the idle isn't quite right, shouldn't be hard to fix though.

ignition needs to be locked..... and more fuel needs to be there...

so welding the distributer in place, and bigger fuel pump, rrfpr and get a diff carb or i guess some how setting it where the needle and seats wont wear every 50 miles... which i dunno how cody did that.....

Havent been folowing his cars progress huh? Coldy13 has everything handled. ( I would go with an intercooler but i am very intersted in the numbers without one).

Distributor weights are welded, vacuume advance disconnected. Fuel, I think I've got that covered Porsche 911 Turbo fuel pump. Pressure regulator is a mallory rising rate, with a different spring in it for the base pressure a carb needs. Robert(www.rotaryshack.com) took care of boost-prepping the carb.

I have boosted it to about 4psi now, already pulls strong with just that. The fuel pressure reg needs to be connected to the primaries on the intake manifold, and right now it's on the secondaries because I need to tap into the manifold, I don't have anywhere to connect it to on the primaries yet. So the FPR isn't seeing the boost until the secondaries open, which is really messing with the fuel delivery. Once that's connected right I'll take it up to full boost

I will put on an IC when I get some $ again, but I had to do this spending as little money as possible. The entire project was less than $1000. If there's not snow on the ground by the time it's running perfect, then I'll be taking it to the track. If not I'll have to wait until spring.

Coldy13, on your FPR, you dont have to tap into the itake. you cab tap in before the carb. actually looking at your picture. I see that your turbo has an actuated waste gate you can tap into the signal line for the actuator for a temp fix.

nope, your wrong!!!!

if he did that the motor would flood on shifting or on de-acceleration because it would still be getting a boost signal!!!! the fpr must be AFTER the throttle plates wether the car is efi or carburated

its a secret! it took me a long time to figure it out so i cant tell everybody!!
if you want one done send it to me and ill do it!

for the record when you turbo prep a nikki , it will work but its hard to start when hot(due to the fuel boiling in the carb) and the tuning is very finicky, as coldy knows......but when it comes down to it , nikki will haul ***!!!!

ask coldy, he knows first hand....
from my experience, with the gas pedal fully depressed, it takes about 20 seconds... it wont foul your plugs

When it's cold, starts right up, 2 secs at most. When hot, takes 10-15 secs of cranking, then starts up, works every time. It will make it easier to start if you put a heat shield between the turbo and the carb, but I havn't had time to do that yet.

I'm 99.9% sure it didn't.
As far as I know, the EQ only came with the digital MPX stereo that came with the GSL and -SE models, and as an option on GS models.

Maybe it was intalled by a previous owner?

Can or should a turbocharger be ceramic coated? That would help keep heat in the turbo and not radiating onto the intake manifold and carburetor.
