ruined 1st gen

im not keen on the whole V8 swaps, but hey, i understand, big 8 and light car= great performance. it still disgusts me because in my opinion, you ruin an rx-7 by doing this. the car was meant for the rotary in every aspect. it was designed around its engine. now a V8, ok, but a 3800 with a carb? and even worse, an automaticsome of you may have already seen this. but for those of you who havent, i bring it to you:

well somebody did mention on the V8 thread that a V6 would prolly allow it to keep more handling. It would be nice if the hood was white and a way smaller scoop. Poor FB

Ditto. Im all for sharing 1st gen stuff, and "living" in the community, hell, I posted threads in here bitching about my personal life because you guys knew my car, and me to an extent, and would know my life. However, there comes a time when even I of all people have to say that this is not technical in nature, and belongs in another forum, ESPECIALLY when its piston/rotor debate. It may not be now, but it will come up in time, mark my words. Just my two cents.

theres a guy local to me who had a nice dark purple TII, very sweet looking car, but his dumbass self blew the motor, and all he had to put in was a 4.3l v6 he put that, a holley carb, and a 700r4 in it... along with a solid rear end... ruined the car, that car is literally totalled now, would definately cost more to fix the crap that he did to it than the whole car is worth... and he had the nerve to try and sell that car for 6000 bux. idiot

Rotax engines are piston, not rotary.

well, im glad i can still post my opinion, mr. president. thank you very much. i wasnt starting a flame war, just having a little fun. maybe i should have put it in the lounge, but guess what i didnt, so live with it. if the mods want to delete this thread, fine by me, but dont come in here and assume my intentions. some people like to check out cars like that, some people like that stuff. i dont and i will voice my OPINION on that. last time i checked, this wasnt a facist forum.

Not trying to stir up the swap debate, but those 3.8 L engines are pretty decent little motors. I've had them in my Riviera and Trofeo. Both were problem free, even with the high milage I put on them. Didn't know you could retrofit them with a carb.

so you personally attack me, but not the other two comments? i said no where in my post that you could not post your opinion (after all, this IS a discussion forum.) I merely said that your opinion, would start an opinion war. there are some pretty die hard rotary fans here, who are gonna bash. then the V8 guys are gonna defend it...and its gonna start another flame thread. im not saying you cant voice your opinion, im jus sick of the V8 threads that always turn in Rotary vs. Piston wars...

hey mods, maybe we should make a forum titled "Rotary vs Piston"?

i didnt want to attact what you said. i guess the other comments werent so blatent. but i guess i should thank you for being so blatent. i understand what you're saying and you have a great point. perhaps both of us should word things a little better or should i say explain ourselves a bit better. but, point taken. your point is good and valid. like i said, i was just trying to have a little fun and yes poke some fun.

I too have nothing against voicing opinions, I respect everyones opinions, its just that its been beat to death for years. And there are only a few people on this forum that offer their opinion as that, their opinion, most of the people condemn anyone who disagree with them. Thats why I said what I did about I can't believe the mods allow this. We should all include our view on this in our signature, then there never needs to be any arguement after that, we'll all know how each other feels, and we'll all be adult enough to accept and respect each other... how'd that be?
