Can't remember what the name of the Royal Purple was when I put it in. Been soooo long. It actually "feels" better than Redline I had in. The temps went way down as felt on the trans tunnel. Fuel mileage may have gone up as a result, haven't documented my mileage yet.
All can say is I love this stuff. It's much better than Royal Purple IMHO. Most of my friends have switched from Redline to RP because of me. I use it in all my vehicles and switched over with 100k miles or more.
No need for a flush as some peeps have said. Just drain old and fill new. No need for LSD additive as I recall.
Good Luck!

I had Red Line in my '83 due to a very crunchy shifter. My '85 doesn't have a notchy shifter so I went with RP. IMO, if you have synchro problems, RL is the way to go - if you don't, I would go with RP.
From what I have heard, the RL has friction modifiers that actually induce more friction to help your synchros engage - great to help out a tired / notchy shifter but I'm hesitant in putting it in a healthy tranny. My opinion only....

I've had excellent results with Amsoil 75W-90 in both transmissions and rearends (non-LSD). It even pretty much "cured" my skritchy 3rd gear synchro in my RX4!
Good stuff, even if it doesn't have a color in it's name...
