round 2 constant beeping noise !help!
ok so i just got done reading the archive on how to fix your highbeams, mine haven't worked since i bought the car. I was able to get them to come on for about 30secs then they turned off and i was only running parking lights. But my car is BEEPING at me. It hasnt always done this, maybe for about the past two months or so. It's the sound that the car would make if you were low on a fluid or if your idiot lights came on. All the fluids in my car are fine and none, of the bulbs in my idiot lights have burnt out. I installed some fogs lights about 2 weeks ago and they worked perfect, and now they're not working either, I'm thinking that this electrical disturbance that is causing the iritating beep has something to do with that. The beep will come on and stay on for mins at a time, then go away or turn into a telegraph style noise, but ultimatly will go back to a strong solid warning style beep. I cant figure out what it is or how it made my brand new fog lights stop working, but i can tell it's robbing power from the car, with the electrical disturbance it's causing. I had my alternator checked and it was fine. I'm getting ready to take off the steering wheel, fixing the highbeam problem according to the archives and then take out the gauge cluster to see if the buzzer is grounding, but not sure what to look for! ANY IDEAS??? thanks -noel

1. Search for the term "oscillator". This is a little black box located in front of the battery that sometimes goes haywire and causes the sound you are describing.
2. Read the entire article in the Archives "Headlight Headache". Toward the end, we realized that you don't necessarily have to remove the steering wheel or take the switch apart. Usually, just hosing the switch down without taking anything apart does the trick. The can of cleaner comes with a tube on it, so it can reach right down in there.
Good luck....

kentetsu you are my savior! that was the worst noise to deal with for two months! I was getting ready to pull the wheel and the gauge cluster out, tried cleaning the terminals but that didn't work so i just grabbed the one out of my parts car and wa-lah. Now just have to check my fogs lights and see what happened with them. I and my passangers ears thank you.
