rotor motor smokes at idle
I'm looking at buying a 13b 4 port dellorto'd Rotary Engine PickUp. The owner says the motor smokes at idle, sometimes a LOT. But when you drive it the smoke isn't nearly as bad. The motor was resealed earlier this year and I can only assume it was done correctly. When oil control rings start to go the motor typically smokes all the time, especially during shifts and a lot of smoke when DOWNshifting.
My guess is the oil metering pump is stuck open and too much oil being injected into the carb at idle. When at speed the mixture is more accurate and thus less smoke
Your thoughts? This is a decent REPU at a good price.

The truck is 600 miles away so I can't see it. Don''t know if it's oil, could be water seals taking a dive or pinholed rotor housing grooves for all I know.
Just lookin for ideas.
