Rotor housing - is this real bad?
One of my GSL-SE housings has a spot, on one edge, about 3/8 inch wide and 2 inches long without chrome. Just how much of a problem is that? As I recall the car ran pretty good when hit. Will overhaul with this just be temporary?

That sounds pretty bad. If it ran good as-is, then a new housing should give you a noticable increase in power. An overhaul alone won't really help you - you would need to replace the housing to fix it. This is where you need to do a little soul searching with your intentions with the engine. An overhaul will put it right back where it was before teardown and the chipping chrome will probably just get worse over time based on use/abuse. The engine will most likey be fine, just slightly down on power. It just comes down to intentions vs cost.
