Is this rotor housing ok for my application?

Hello,

I am looking at a set of rotor housings, and one of them has a little chip on the edge, as shown in the picture. I am putting together a turbo setup using Sk51 and S4 turbo. I am thinking about using RA seals for the rebuild job. I am about to get these, but my friend would like me to make sure it is ok to use. Please give me some input. Thanks

the housing should be alright, as long as there aren't any chips or flaking near the plug holes. I don't have any experiance with rotary aviation, but I haven't heard any negatives about them.
where in MN are you located?

that shouldn't cause you any trouble. It's the start of a housing being worn out. Take some more pictures of the edges of the housings, exhaust ports, and plug holes, and we'll be able to give you a better recommendation. The only things that I've heard about the RA kits is that they were having some trouble with the heat treatment on their apex seal springs, and that they would flatten out rather quickly, causing a loss in compression. Alot of people use Mazda Factory springs, or Mazda Race springs with the RA kit. The other thing that I've heard is that they are strong enough that if you detonate, you can crack a housing (normally around the dowel pins) instead of an apex seal. I'll be using the 2mm version when I get around to building my monster .

Here ya go,

I am planning on getting this set of housings from someone remotely located. And here are several more pictures I got.

Two more ... before this I was in contact with Robert from rotoryshack, however I haven't been able to get to him for 3(?) weeks now.

The resolution is quite low on those housings, but i'd say that they look good to me. How much is he asking btw? I'll keep on studying the pictures, the one where the two housings are at a 90* angle, the housing on the left is concerning me. I'll get back to you in a couple of minutes and let you know.

this edge looks suspect to me, have him get a close, higher resolution picture and post it.
