I think the stock pump is fine for a mikuni, I know it is for a dellorto.
If you need a new pump just buy a Holley blue and a good pressure regulator.

I think that the Mikuni is supposed to be 4-5 psi - but I don't really know. My stock pump just makes the gauge move a little (I guess about 1.5ish). I will try to get an MSD on Fri and see if that cures my surging...
