rolling down the window
rolling down the window
When I put either of my widows down, there is still about an inch remaining visible in the full down position. I thought at first that there was something wrong, but I noticed on some in the junkyard that they were the same way. Is this how they're supposed to be... the don't fully retract all the way into the door when rolled completely down?
my drivers side does that a little, the back will come a little higher than the front when i roll it up, so i have to push the front of it up a little to get the window to seal all the way

This is why Im going to manual windows, the power windows BLOW ***!!!! I have 4 cars now, and the power windows dont work on ANY of them, and I cant afford new regulators, so manual is the next best way to go. Also, Im making custom door panels (for the window crank) so I can keep the power window door panels good in case I ever want to go back and while im making them, Im gonna incorperate 6 1/2" speakers into them as well.

Power Window Help is here
TO those who have trouble getting windows back up: They can work great if you clean the switches contacts. The only problem is the bracket on the '84-85 GSL or SE have weak clips that break when you try to remove it. However mine was already broken so I went ahead and slide the switches off the bracket and pulled the tiny pin under the rubber boot and then you can clean the contacts. I used a file and put dielectric grease afterwards and now work GREAT! Better then when I got the car infact. I highly recommend you do this before you condemn the power windows as junk.
