Ebay and check the cars for sale in the forum classifieds.

That is a lot of rust. It could be fixed, just may not be worth it. Keep looking. I found a mint 85GSL in Atlanta with 70K original miles and perfect interior/exterior last March. I was willing to make the roadtrip for mine.

Get the newspaper classifieds (Tribune/Des Moines Register), as well as autotrader, car and truck trader, eBay, etc.

You might not see much this time of year, though.

Rust really sucks. It's fixable, but like others have brought up, it just probably isn't worth it to repair.

anything is restorable as long as you have the funds to do so but as for a cheap restore i don't think that will fall into this car

I have fixed quite a bit of underbody rust on my 82. I basically replaced the:

-Rear wheel wells
-Passengers floor and frame rail under it
-Drivers floor and frame rail under it
-back of each front wheel well
-Some rust at the back of the car

The floor is about 50-60% new metal. The tranny hump was perfectly rust free. Same with the main body. Just a few spots on a fender and the hood. The car was repainted before I got it. They probably removed the exterior rust at the same time.

The center part of the bottom of the car is rust free, i had a leaky oil cooler for a few months over a year ago and most of the bottom of the car got coated. I am glad i didnt clean it off

how much did it cost to get all that rust fixed, rotarypower? I am sure it wasnt cheap. I would rather spend 2k on a paint job than 1500 on body work and 500 for a maco job. (not implying that my budget is only 2k )

I think i am going to be better off getting something with less rust. i just hope i can find something decent before spring
