Smile requesting some 1st gen motor mount info

Hey everyone, this is the first time for me in the 1st gen section (i normally live in the FD section). anyway, the reason im here is to ask you guys a bit of info (if you have it) about your motor mounts. im doing a 20b conversion in my FD.. the new subframe that i bought (to adapt the 20b to my car) requires shorter motor mounts than FD ones, so that the engine clears the hood. i was told that the 1st gen ones are the shortest (and best suited to get my motor mounted with this particular frame). anyway, i was told to get a set of stock 1st gen mounts to use. im a bit reluctant to do that as the motor will be putting out upwards of 500-600HP, and im not sure if those mounts can take it. so my questions for you guys are:

A) how much is a stock set of new 1st gen mounts

B) are there any aftermarket urethane replacements for your mounts? (your mounts are rather short so im not sure if urethane will "give" enough if theres that little of it)

*and most importantly* C) if i decide to make my own mounts out of urethane... what are the dimensions of your passengers, and drivers side mounts?? really i think i just need the height's, and from that i could possibly make a set myself.

and any other recomendations are welcome. nice to meet you all ! -Heath

I havent ever heard of problems with the mounts themselves, but I heave heard problems of our mounting system, when couplled with high horsepower high torque motors.

If you did know, in the first gens, the mounts are bolted to a cross piece that bolts to the front cover. Bolting to the front cover is where we generally see weakness, not the mounts themselves.

But if I had a choice, id go with the competition mounts

if you are really worried about it, get solid motor/tranny mounts and a torque brace and you should be set..
