Replacement of Stock Fuseible Link System
After breaking my main relay on my 12a i decided to go a different route than stock. I was trying to source a second gen one in the junk yard when i came accross an old car that i used to pull parts off of, a 1986 Crx Si.
The main relay system in the CRX uses three fuses, a 65 amp, a 45 amp, and another 45 amp. I removed it and took it to the local parts shop and got the correct fuses. I left the 65 amp and changed the other two to 20 amp, for now anyways. I installed it in my car and it even fits in the stock location using the stock mounting bracket or you can take the bracket out and mount it to one of the original holes them selves. One the best perks is that all the wires screw in, unlike the stock rx7 one, this allows me to swap out blocks if i ever break another one, without having to cut or splice.
The accesesory wire off the battery will screw into the main relay without any changes. The three wires were cut off and fitted with three new ends, the screw type connectors. One 10 gauge one (yellow) and two 14 gauge ones (blue).
The finished product is great, looks better than stock. It even looks better than the buss fuse conversion. The relay allows you to hook another wire for power if you wanted to put alittle more juice flowing through for maybe a stereo or a set of mean fog lights. If anyone wants any pictures ask. It also comes with a neat little cover and mentions no where that its a honda part haha.
IMO better than most i have seen.
