Removing ignition key cylinder?

I'm re-doing the complete wiring system on my '85 GS, push button starter, flip switches for fuel pump, coil, etc, and i want to rip off the ignition key cylinder, but it appears to be friggin riveted on with a couple HUGE rivets... is there any way of getting the sucker off of there without cutting it off?? I'm getting sick of buying new sawzall blades, hehe
