ahhh thanks a ton I do have the victoria british catalogue and I see what you mean, before though i was trying to get to the back of the absorber to see if there was a nut. I took off the metal plate above the rad and couldnt really get behind the absorbers... is there a better way of doing this?

Well since the only thing in my engine bay right now is the steering and wiring harness, I don't remember. Follow the top of the frame rail forward just past the sheetmetal that the rad shroud bolts too. The nuts are outside of the rad shroud, in a little cubby hole.
