Remove throttle cable

How does the throttle cable come out of the firewall? It looks like there's some sort of clip on the interior side of the firewall but I don't understand how it releases. I don't want to break it.

cable casing snaps into the firewall while the cable itself snaps to the pedal

yeah, i've done this like 3 times haha(had my cable snap on me. The cable does clip to the peddal but iam not sure if it will just slide out of the firewall bracket and the bracket is a pita to get off.

its not as easy as it sounds..there are four small clips on the back of the firewall mount that must be depressed together from inside of the car...after those are depressed, the mount will be free from the firewall. the cable attatches to the accelerator pedal bracket via a plastic grommet. depress the two tabs and move outward.
