Remove allen head bolt

Ok, so I need to get the carb off the car, but it is mounted with 4 allen headed bolts.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove them. I have allen sockets,
which are too big to fit, an allen screw driver set, which is too big as well, and allen
wrenches which are too long. I am getting caught on the accel pump section. How
can I get these things off? I don't care if I have to use vice grips (tried, too big and
couldn't move it) because I will just replace them with real bolts.

Short of cutting half the head of my brand new allen wrenches, how can I get this
bolt off??? 4 of them.

Ball-tip allen wrench of the proper size is probably your best bet. Allows for high offset angle.

I use a stubby allen wrench made for use with a ratchet, work's great. On some of the bolts, you have to use a swivel behind it, but no issues.

Go to a cheap auto store and buy a dirt cheap allen wrench to cut up.

They could be metric. I bought a metric set at Harbor Freight.
