release cylinder bad?

hello again most helpful rx7 lovers!

my clutch acts like it has a ton of air in the system.
i have bled and bled and bled some more but the problem isn't going away.
i realized today that there is a small leak somewhere.. i believe it's on the release cylinder BUT it is not a visible leak. i can pump the clutch for maybe 10 minutes and there won't be a spot on the ground. so maybe it leaks a little and takes in a lot of air? is this possible with a leak so small?

P.S.
i have bled it until i couldn't stand to any more.. then bled it some more.

anyone got any input.. something i maybe am not thinking about?

EDIT: I can drive the car. i just have to pull the clutch off the floor if i don't pump it enough before using it.. or if i hold it down for more than 3 seconds.

Check the flexihose going to the slave. In fact, just replace it. My 83 did that and I couldn't even see traces of the escaping fluid, but that's what it was: the flexihose. $15 later all was well. Easy replacement.

but yes.. it was that flex hose..
it showed no signs of leaking until i removed the unit.

Make sure you check both cylinders as well. The clutch hydrolic system on RX-7's are one of the bad things as they are really weak. Usually if one components fails, the rest will fail soon too. Just change both cylinders as well and you will feel better.

Yeah, I seem to have spent the last year changing clutch hydraulics. Just did it on the 85, too. Lucky the 2 cyls are only about $60 new.
