relay for ford 3.8l electric fan
ok, I have my fan. I have my ajustable switch and now I need a relay. The articles I have read about the 3.8l for fan say 70amp relay. They recommend the 70amp bosch relay. Being a cheap person in general and wanting to do a ghetto junkyard thing. Does anyone know how to figure out a which relay in a junkyard is a 70a? The one I need has to be 4 prong. The top says 30, 87, 86 and 85. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, the ford 3.8l fan puts out 2000 cfm. Not bad for a $10 pull. This one came out of a lincoln towncar and is a single speed. I kept the two wire connector to it so the install is going to look clean.

nice diagram. That's about how I'm going to wire it up but the 86 wire is coming from my adj fan controller.
Where did you get the relay? Cost? The sites where I have read about this mod (ford muscle) keep saying 70a relay but I feel you can get by with a 40 or 50a relay myself.

you love this I got my relays from EBAY.com
like 2.95 each its been awhile.
I wouldn't now what to do with a Diode if you gave it to me. Let alone if I bought it from radioshack.
