Refinishing wheels

With finals over at college and three months of spare time, I have been looking for some projects to do. My dad and I have decided to try refinishing the wheels. He's a painter and sandblaster and he also had his own insulation business so he has all the spray equipment we will need. I am going to do a test run on the alloys on my Accord. I will probably post some before/after shots of the Accord wheels to see if they turn out decent enough to try it on the Rx7.

We will be using glass bead to strip what's left of the old clear coat off the wheels. My question is should I sand smooth the texturing from the bead blasting or should we just go ahead with the clear coat after blasting?

Use an aircraft paint remover and skip the bead blasting if you want a polished look. Any bead blasting will need to be sanded and polished out. That's more work than most people realise.

Thanks for the advice Trochoid. We just figured we would bead blast because my dad can get the glass bead for free from his work.
