rebuild or swap----12a or 13b

I tried the ATF trick and it did nothing to the compression, it did **** off the neighbors though, and that's always good :] Anyway, the engine (12a) definitely has to come out. From what I've read I'm expecting the rear rotor housing (the one with no compression) to be shot along with the apex seals. Is this a safe assumption? or might I get lucky? I was wondering, would I be better off rebuilding my 12a or trying to find a usable one in a rusted out or wrecked rx7, or if I'm going to swap, should I go ahead and put a 13b in there, or will I be happier with the 12a?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks everybody

it all depends on how much money you want to spend. if you kept the 12a you could just drop it in, but with the 13b you have to get new manifolds, a different carb etc. I'm happier with my 13b than the 12a. The 13b is alot torquier than the 12a.
