rearend interchangeability

rearend interchangeability
okay heres my question
can i use a gsl-se rearend, and replace the LSD unit with that from a 85 GSL and keep the gsl-se 4:10 gears and axles... i got a gsl-se today but the lsd is whining, ( ive owned 3 -se's and they all have whined, im beginning to think its normal) anyway please let me know.
