Rear end plate coolant fitting??

Im removing my beehive oil cooler and have noticed that on the rear endplate a coolant line(hard line) comes out of the block and splits into two, one end for the beehive and one for the heater core. On the 79-82 blocks there is just a threaded fitting into the block that the hose for the heater core goes into. So is this hard coolant line coming out of my block just threaded in?? Can i just pull it out and put in the threaded fitting??
Any input would be great, Thanks

You can not remove it from that year engine. it is pressed in.

Most people just put a stub of hose on it and then plug the hose.

i just cut it just behind where it split, making it a single outlet. still leaves enough to clamp the hose onto.

Ditto.

The older engines had threads on the fitting, but later ones are pressed in.Never had any issue with cutting it behind the tee and clamping.
