Exclamation Rear end, GSL-SE, TT...

Hey, what's going on, any of you guys or ladies no where I can get a referbished, new, GSL-SE or TT rear end for my 85" GSL-SE. It sat for about four years before I got it, and now the rear end whistls, a pitch higher for every mph. If any of you guys are like me, you can do the math and realize just how loud that is. Also, here is a ghost, every once and a while, when I put it in gear, sitting still, with the clutch in, like at a stop light, or something. It wont idle smooth, it will bob up and down, from 1 grand, to about 4-5 hundred. It doesn't do this all the time, sometimes only once every 3-4 days, any ideas...

well before you talk about replacing the rear end, try doing some simple things that should be done if its been sitting that long.

I'd repack all the wheel bearings, and change the gear oil in the rear end. That may very well fix the problem.

oh and change the fuel filter

TT rear end?

If you mean 3rd gen rear end, then don't bother. They don't swap.

Thanks for the feedback so promptly, but I already changed the fuel filter, and the bearings, they're on their death bead, only a matter of time. Oh, and I meant "TT" Turbo Two, no not a third Gen, 2nd gen, come on now, if anyone trying to put a third gen rearend into a first gen needs to be "PIMP SLAP'D" I mean sure, if you've got Bill Gates VISA, and nothing else better to do, i'm sure some mad scientist could make it happen, but then, just buy a third gen.

Well, TII rear ends don't swap either. They are IRS, FB's are a live axle.

Depends. As long as you have the LSD and disc brakes, that's the good stuff.

The SE has a better gear ratio, and larger disc brakes too.

Eventually, I will put a Ford 8.8 rear end in mine, but that isn't a bolt on.

It's my wife, we met on the internet, and we are now happily married, and having sex several times a day. On weekends she brings her sorority friends over for some good threesome fun.

I wish.
