Rear end

Ok so driving my 83 agian for the first time in about a year, has given me very mixed feelings on selling my rex's. I really do want a new car but I would have to get rid of all the cars I have now. Anyways I have a 85' with a 5.12 LSD in it and was wondering if I can take the gears from my stock lsd and put them in with the lsd? So I would end up with like a 3.98lsd or whatever stock 83' non lsd rear is. Because the 5:12 is to much rearend for street you run out of steam fast you get to that point fast but its just not practical haha.

How much do you want to sell the 5.12 ring and pinion gear for? PM me with pics if available.

SO you have a 3.90 with an open rear, and a 5.12 on an LSD and you want to end up with a 3.90 with the lsd? Yes you can swap the LSD into the 3.90 diff. But you need the tools to measure and do it right. Read how to setup a ring and pinion in the FSM. See if you can tackle it.

Haha I think I might keep the 5:12 everyone and their brother is trying to buy it off me. Neven know when I might want to do some serious drag racing . Anyways I probaly would just have my buddy's dad swap it for me. He has a trans shop and could do it. Thanks for the info. I also have a welded 4:88 but dont think I want to use that because the car is going to see street time.
