RB SP exhaust/ride height

Wondering if anyone had a problem with the Racing Beat exhaust and it scraping. I only have problems with speed bumps and stuff. Its mounted properly and everything. The reason why I ask is because I want to install a Eibach pro kit spring set with a 1" drop in the front and .8" in the rear. Is this much of a drop going to scrape if I hit a dip in the road. Spent alot on this exhaust and have already scraped it up alot. Any info would be greatly appreciated

your stock springs are probably sagging really badly then. i bet when you go to put on the lowering springs it will actually get higher because it will be where it's supposed to. i have a side pipe and it's low as hell and i only scrape on high speed bumps. AND my car is lowered.

p.s. oh and are you ever on indepence blvd? i live in mint hill. about an easy 20 minute drive from you. you should bring your rex out tomorrow night (saturday) to Carolina Performance's dyno night. pm me for more info. we'll be havin a blast!

The ONLY time I had scrapeage was getting into and out of my driveway at slow speeds.

Otherwise, none at all... and I run RB springs all around, and some fatty 15's...

Exhaust hangers? Umm, Mine bolted to the engine and to the back under the rear bumper... it mounted as one big piece (i.e., all 3 pieces had to be assembled first, drop the rearend from the passenger's side, put it all in, give it a little twist so that it would line up with the block, and badda bing, it was done) No exhaust hangers....

/shrug

I have the RB SP exhaust in my '80, which still used 4 or 5 exhaust hangers. I know the locations are different in early FBs from looking at my '82, but I don't know what configuration the '84-'85s used.

Edit: The VB catalog doesn't show any hangers, so I guess the '84-'85s are self-supporting.

My SA has 2 hangers in addition to the one at the back, one that bolts up to the transmission and one a little further back, but I dont hove either one bolted up and dont scrape often even though I have been lowered. It is pretty low though, it is low enough that i cannot get over the rim on the pit at the jiffy lube!
