RB holley 465

i just got a new holley 465 from racing beat. the carb. works perfect. no problems at all. but the secondaries dont open when their supposed too. i know that it's not right because you cant stomp it and they wont open. you can feel them at about 6,500 then they come open. we called them and they said that it should be at 3 to 4 thousand. they also said that it might have the wrong spring. so i took it out and it has a yellow spring.( this is located under the secondary valve). is this the right one or is it to stiff???

i just put a screw in mine so they start opening at alittle over half open on the primaries. don't know the spring colors. u could call them back and ask or check the holley site.

Nice pdf. I have one of these 465s and that has a lot of useful info in it.

i think a lot of people use the white one, but you should be able to get a spring kit with like 5 springs in it. you can test and find out what you like that way.

When I had my car tuned at the dyno, I thought I needed to change the spring but I didn't. I did end up going with bigger primary jets and accelerator pump jets though.

i called racing beat and they said that it should have the yellow spring, which it does. So he said that the reason that they are not opening at the right time is that my motor has bad compression or that something inside the carb is stopped up. Hopefully not bad compression cause i just got this motor from japan2la like a month ago.
