RB header Rust

I was just wondering if the old style painted RB headers rusted out. Im thinking about buying a used one and it looks kinda rusty. But i was wondering if it would just be surface rust.

All headers over time will get rust, unless they got some type of speical coating...I wouldnt worry about it rusting through as they are very thick material, never heard/seen of a RB header rusting through.

All used headers look rusty when they sit up. I have never seen a set of headers that actually rust through. of course they don't put salt on the roads here either.

I've senn old headers with scally rust on them and once installed they worked great!!

Usually it's surface rust, just take a closer look and inspect it if you want to be sure.

I would sand blast them and re- paint them with high temp black BBQ paint.

It works very well, if you don't have access to a sand blaster then, use a wire wheel.
