RB exhaust price quesiton (cdn)

Have any of you canadian fb owners out there bought a Racing Beat dual pipe exhaust lately? Im trying to get an idea of duty, taxes, shipping etc. I know the exhaust itself is $840 US. just trying to see if it fits the budget.

There are a couple people on the forums from canada that have bought the RB exhaust. IMO, its the ripoff of the century. Hardly worth it for us to import here. I can't remember the prices, but I know after all was said and done it was outrageous. I figure it to be about $1000 after exchange, plus probably $100 for shipping, then another $70-$150 for taxes, then add the brokerage fees of probably $400 from UPS, as thats probably the only way they will ship it. It would be right around $1600.

you're probably better off buying them from mazdees or a similar company ... you just buy it straight up (minus the taxes) so It would probably be cheaper like that.

Ive heard, pace setter header, and racing beat headers are good.

Then you get a magnaflow exhaust.

Don't bother, it isnt' worth the cash.

Shell out for the RB header or get a used one from the For Sale forum. There's almost always one out there. Then get a good long stainless bullet style muffler like a Magnapack or Borla XR and then another Borla Turbo for the final muffler. The bullet muffler will be about $100 and the Borla will be another $150. Add pipe and welding time and you'll have an exhaust that flows well and sounds great without breaking the bank or shattering your eardrums.

If you can pickup an RB silencer used, it's totally worth it as well. I've got the mini presilencer that was standard on the '79 and '80 systems and it makes a significant improvement on the exhaust note and tone.

Just have it shipped to a place in the states, drive down have put on and drive back. There is a place in Nagara falls called U.S. Address, you ship to them in your name and they charge $5 bucks to hold the package. Use it all the time. Or drive back with and pay the tax.

If you need the info send my a pm.

Our dollar is great right now. Go for it.

I guess they won't ship an item that large by USPS. Investigate to see if they can use DHL. Stay away from UPS!
