hey, ive recently aquired a rebuilt 12a from a 79, i plan on rebuilding the carb off my 83 engine and putting in on the sa motor, im wondering with the FB carb on there will the rats nest tutorial (ala rx7carl and pratch) be the same, i know the sa carb has alot different rats nest and carb setup

i wanna get the engine fully stripped of emissions and prepped before i put it in the car

btw, ive already got the main part of the rats nest off the engine because i was cleaning the engine

should be really similar, if not the same. Just take a look at the differences between vacuum hose routing/solenoids/etc for the 79 and the FB and adjust accordingly.

 

i was told to cap off all vaccum lines on the carb except 2(not sure of what ones) and run the ones coming off the dizzy to those, is it really that simple?

Similar and simpler. Just keep the vac advance for teh dizzy (if you want to) and definately keep the crankecase breather system or youll end up with a rusty oil fill pipe and "lung mustard" as peejay calls it in your oil.
