Question radio noise

Sometimes I'm sitting in the car with the engine off and I want to hear some tunes. So I turn the ignition key to the intermediate position before Start (to get power to the stereo) and then I turn the radio on.. but the ignition buzzer starts wailing at me, and it is really annoying, so I turn the ignition switch off and mutter a mild oath.

The owner's manual makes no mention of an annoying buzzer sound when listening to the radio, so maybe something is wrong with the way my (stock) stereo gets its power... or the ignition buzzer is making a racket when it isn't supposed to?

Under the dash is a buzzer relay (next to the stearing column left or right, deep) Unplug it and see if thats your problem. Sounds like it went tango uniform and is grounding out somewhere. Mind you there are a couple of relays so you may have to experiment.

Thanks! - I'll take a look at that.

Do you live in the real WA or the other WA?

I live in the Starbucks-on-every-corner WA.

If it works the same way as the buzzer in my B2200, I find if I turn it up to 'ON' or crank it for a second on 'START' and then turn it back to 'ACC' the buzzer goes away.
