Radiator & Thermostat Question

Did Mazda use the same radiator in all the 83’ to 85’ Rx-7’s was there a heavy duty or –SE radiator?

What temperature thermostat do you run in your RX7?

When I was looking up my radiator I kept finding that the same radiator worked for 81-85.

The 83-85 12a use a 2 row tall radiator while the GSL-SE uses a 3 row short radiator. 79-82 also use a 3 row short. however they are all interchangeable as long as you use the oilcooler that matches the radiator. The 3 row are far more desirable.

Use ONLY Mazda thermostats. You can get them in 160 deg, 170 deg, and 180 deg IIRC. The 160 is for best performance (power) while the 180 is for best fuel economy.
