radiator question?
radiator question?
I installed the new radiator yestarday........and the temp gauge stays hella low
and my Heater doesnt heat much=(
If i touch the radiator after a 20'sh mile run(pushing it) it's colder then my intake manifold
Is this normal?

i'll check that tomorrow.......(thermostat)So the radiator is supposed to get hot(warmer then the engine) right?
not warmer, but cooler! but it should be hot.
the thermostat regulates the temperature, if its too cold, it will restrict the flow of water till its gets to normal temperature, when it gets hottert it opens up letting more water flow, so it keeps the temperature pretty much at 1 temp. usually about 1/3 up the guage.
to test the thermostat, or a new one, put it in a pot of cold water on the stove with a thermometer, then slowly bring the water to a boil, then when the water reaces the temp the thermostat is set, you will see it open. make sure the temp of the thermostat matches that on the thermometre
