racing beat holley 600 install help
I finally have gotten around to installing a used holley 600 on 13b rx2. It fired right up, but the idle will not go below about 3500. I set the linkage to be at rest yet it keeps this speed. I havent had hardly any carb experience so any help here would be appreciated... I also have some picture of the way I have it setup if that would help anyone. oh yes and I am running a holley red at 5-6 psi and I know its running rich as I am getting huge backfires when I have playing with the problem. Thanks for the help!

hmmm...
I did use the old gasket( yes I know I should always use new ones) So I will get a new one. You really think that could cause all the problems though? Also, there is one outlet on the carb that I didnt have plugged up. In the following picture, the front nipples is for oil (I had that one connected), but I dont know what the one behind it is.

Try plugging the nipple up and see what happens. Also, this is unrelated to your problem but are you running a fuel pressure regulator or does the Holley Red make 5-6psi unregulated. I'm just trying to track down a fuel pressure problem with my setup.

well I guess I will do some fooling around with it tomorrow. I am running a holley regulator as well. I think I would get 6-7 psi running unregulated.
