Racing Beat Exhaust help
Yes, the noob is strong within this one, but I have no idea what to make for a purchase. My 1984 Rx-7 GS came with the racing beat power pulse muffler, but that's all there is from racing beat. The website gives a slew of links and options but nothing that's a "cookie cutter" build for me to follow. Perhaps someone can stupid-simplify it for me and give some suggestions? I have an aftermarket catalytic converter and I want to do away with that altogether and just straight pipe it back, but I'm not familiar enough with exhaust systems to choose the exact components without making a mistake. From what I understand I just need headers, and the pip leading to the muffler. Any input?

If you already have the RB muffler, you will need the following:
Streetable Header/Collector
84-85 RX-7 -12A MT
Part Number: 16012
Retail Price: $258.00
Presilencer 84-85 RX-7
Manual (12A)
Part Number: 16401
Retail Price: $205.00
You will use your stock center pipe.
If you phone racing beat, you also will want the ACV blockoff plate and the blockoff plate for the cat air supply tube. I can't find those on the website. You could also just phone them, and tell them what you have already and they will figure out what you need.

Thank you both, especially sgt fox that's exactly the kind of post I was looking for. My question to you now sgt fox is why do I need those last two things you suggested? The ones I need to call and order since they're not on the website. In Washington state a vehicle that's 25 years old doesn't need to take an emissions test so I'm not going to use a Cat Converter at all, or do I need those suggested items regardless?

If you are not running a cat, you do not need the air pump and associated gear. The full RB kit includes these items to remove the air pump and block off the unused air tube that would normally run to your cat.
That being said, as you have an aftermarket cat, you may already not have the air tubing as some modern cats do not require it.
If you search for air pump removal, I did a write up and explanation of the plates... https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=air+pump
I also assumed that your car was a manual transmission. If this is incorrect those part numbers I gave above would be different.

Okay so my intention is to remove the cat altogether and run the straight pipe, I'll need the header and the pre-silencer, that I know. You mentioned something about the air pump, do I need to acknowledge that? And yes I have a manual transmission.
