Racing beat exhaust backfiring
i just hooked up my exhaust and when i rev it up and then let go of the gas it backfires a bit and i was wondering if it should be doing that or it will stop after a while or i did something wrong?? Also today I tested to see what they sound like and after the car was warm there was a smoke rising up near the muffler, I dont think there was an exhaust leak because the smoke didnt smell anything like exhaust, Maybe there was plastic or tape on the muffler or somethin I dont know, but there was a **** load of smoke?
Is it me, or is this the third or fourth "I shoot flames" thread in less than a week? If you have a racing beat full exhaust (no cats) its normal. I wouldn't be suprised if it is burning the back bumper, my back bumper is melting from the heat.
usualy that is the heat paint that is setting in if it was new or if it was a used one you bought maybe someone heat painted it and its doing the same thing.
another thing that might be hapening is that you have a air leak in your gaskets somewhere.
most of the time the rotary engine pushes a lot of unburned fuel out your exhaust and it doesnt completly burn until it gets a ways down your header and then it ignites and that causes the downpipe gasket to wear away really fast. i had a complete R.B. exhaust header down pipe and a prima flow catback muffler and i replaced my gaskets a few times.
